Experienced Furniture Designer
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the design and development of bespoke furniture from concept stage through to manufacture, including material and component specifications, production of prototypes and drawings as necessary to suit brief, will be competent in 3D software with good 3D visualisation ability, and 2D CAD experience essential. The candidate will also have to demonstrate an astute sense of commercial awareness and confidence in the skills of negotiation. Experience in cabinet vision software and an understanding of MRP systems would be beneficial.
The candidate will need to have a high level of attention to detail, be able to build good relationships and have excellent organisational skills. A proven track record in a similar role would be a benefit.
Estimator
The successful candidate will be expected to prepare tenders for projects ranging from several thousand pounds to several million; estimating is based on raw materials and manufacturing costs, as well as installation costs. There are time constraints as it is key to meet strict deadlines for return of tenders, whilst also maintaining an up to data database of costs.
The candidate will need to have a high level of attention to detail, is structured, disciplined and articulate as well as being advanced in excel. The successful candidate must be able to build good relationships and have excellent organisational skills; effectively communicating with clients to ascertain requirements, including attending site meetings if required.
It is vital that the candidate is able to work closely with other departments to ensure accurate tenders are submitted with supporting drawings. A proven track record in a similar role would be a benefit.
